Vaibhav Patel Named 2026 Founders Excellence Award Winner
Spacebourne is proud to announce Vaibhav Patel as the recipient of the 2026 Annual Founders Excellence Award. This honor recognizes the Delta-V Scholar who contributed the most all year. This year, that person is Vaibhav.
Building the Intelligence Layer for Space
As a member of Spacebourne's Delta-V Scholar Program, Vaibhav has played a leading role in developing CLARITY (Cognitive Link Analytics for RF Interference TrajectorY), Spacebourne's foundational AI engine for predicting radiofrequency interference across satellite constellations. As low Earth orbit grows more crowded, CLARITY gives satellite operators and ground station networks the foresight to act before interference disrupts their missions.
Vaibhav was instrumental in leading a team of engineers for two terms. He helped build the React and Next.js dashboards used by both internal RF analysts and external customers, developed the Python FastAPI services that connect those interfaces to CLARITY's machine learning models, and worked on the satellite telemetry and RF data pipeline that feeds the platform's interference predictions. From the data flowing in to the insights delivered on screen, his work touched nearly every layer of the product.
His contributions extend beyond code. Vaibhav also lead technical scoring for new candidates, helping Spacebourne identify and bring on the next generation of builders.
Education
Vaibhav is completing his Master of Science in Computer Science at Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio, where he maintains a 3.5 GPA and expects to graduate in December 2026. He earned his Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence from Parul University in Vadodara, Gujarat, India, and he attended St. Mother Teresa English School in Nandurbar, Maharashtra, India.
Research and Early Experience
In March 2024, Vaibhav co-authored and published research on a Smart EV Charging Station Management System in the International Journal of Innovative Research in Science, Engineering and Technology (IJIRSET). Before joining Spacebourne, he sharpened his full-stack skills as a Full Stack Web Developer Intern at Slash Mark and a Web Development Intern at Academor, building responsive applications and REST-based integrations across React, Node, and Python.
A Builder Beyond the Workday
Vaibhav's curiosity doesn't stop when the workday ends. His independent projects include MindBridge, an ML-powered mental health support platform built on transformer-based natural language processing, and a distributed AI research summarization system that combines GPT-4 and BART with Kafka, Redis, and Kubernetes. Outside of engineering, he is committed to fitness and strength training, bringing the same discipline to the gym that he brings to his work.
Seeing It Before Building It
Originally from Mubarakpur, Gujarat, India, and now based in Fairborn, Ohio, Vaibhav has long believed that you have to see something clearly before you can build it. Every step of his path, from his AI specialization to his side projects to CLARITY, has pointed toward working on ambitious, real-world systems. Space turned out to be the frontier that matched that vision.

Looking ahead, Vaibhav plans to keep contributing wherever he can make the greatest impact, whether in software engineering, forward deployed engineering, or AI and machine learning engineering. His long-term goal is to grow into technical leadership and eventually found a company of his own, creating AI products that solve hard, meaningful problems.
