What You’ll Do

  • Responsibilities

  • Assist Program Chief Engineers in program oversight and execution

  • Ensure program continuity by substituting in for Program Chief Engineers when they are not available

  • Working with the Requirements and Capabilities (R&C) organization in pursuit of new programs in the Front End of the Business (FEOTB)

  • This includes working Solution Review Boards and Blue Teams

  • May lead Proposal efforts as the Chief Engineer

  • Assist with implementing Digital Engineering into the FEOTB and programs, as appropriate

  • Act as an independent reviewer upon request

  • Assist with regular reporting to the SC2 Office of the Chief Engineer

  • Work with functional leadership to ensure proper staffing on programs through the supply and demand process

  • Participate in IRAD proposal, development, and monitoring

  • Participate in Risk and Opportunities (R&O) reviews

  • Participate in escalated technical issues and failure responses (FRBs, CCARs, etc.)

  • Participate in the PMPCB process

  • Foster collaboration between the Discipline and Functional organization to achieve optical cost/schedule/performance efficiencies

  • Coaching and mentoring junior and mid-career engineers

  • Additional duties as assigned by PACE or MACE

Who You are

  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or Science

  • A strong background in Systems Engineering and Integration with approximately 15 years or more of applicable experience in launch vehicle system development and integration

  • Familiarity with a variety of technical disciplines (i.

  • Structures, Propulsion, Avionics, GNC

  • Proven ability to build, organize and lead a diverse Aerospace technical team

  • Demonstrated ability to work in high intensity, fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities

  • Strong initiative and ability to lead change; Ability to identify and implement efficiencies

  • Moderate travel

  • Current Secret clearance, ability to obtain SCI access

  • Advanced degree in Engineering or Science

  • Experience in the execution of Aerospace mission assurance processes

  • Ability to build effective relationships with Government customers and contractors

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills; ability to interface effectively with senior Aerospace, Air Force, and contractor leadership

  • Requires expert or mastery level knowledge of work area, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience

  • May have deep knowledge of project management

  • Advanced knowledge of related disciplines within work area and

  • ability to identify links and potential impact on projects, programs

  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years

  • prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree

  • in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited
